When it comes to fantastical stories beyond our imagination, Final Fantasy is always at the forefront. In this review, we’ll dive into Final Fantasy XV, a game rich in story, centered around the “King of Kings.”

Saori Itamuro beautifully writes the story. If you're a longtime fan of the Final Fantasy series, you’ll appreciate the character development, even when some of the dialogue feels a bit cringe. The way the story is written makes you want to explore every detail, reading item and book descriptions to uncover hidden lore. To fully understand the game’s plot, I highly recommend playing the DLCs, which add depth to the story—even in co-op mode. Final Fantasy XV is also linked to the film Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV (released on July 9, 2016) and the anime series Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV (released on September 17, 2016).

The gameplay is unique, especially the combat system, which includes a tactical menu similar to Kingdom Hearts. In Final Fantasy XV, using the tactical menu pauses the game, giving you time to select items or cast magic, which is different from Kingdom Hearts where the game doesn’t pause. Players can scan enemies to identify their weaknesses, a feature unlocked with Ignis’s skill.

The game’s skill system is well-organized, focusing on combat, health recovery, team assistance, and more. My priority was the EXP gain tree, which grants extra EXP whenever you travel, fight, camp, or fish. Next, I focused on team assist skills, particularly Ignis’s ability to heal or revive teammates. I also upgraded Prompto’s abilities for taking down flying enemies and Gladio’s skills for crowd control and high-damage attacks. For the main character, Noctis, I prioritized dodging and reducing magic cooldowns, as both are essential for my play style.

For traveling, you can use a Chocobo or a car, each serving different purposes. The car is ideal for long-distance travel, while the Chocobo is great for medium and short distances. Fast travel is also an option, but I prefer not to use it, as you earn extra EXP by traveling on foot or by vehicle.

Earning money in this game is easy, especially by completing bounties or farming and selling items. Food also plays an important role, providing buffs for your characters during tough battles. Be sure to collect new recipes to maximize your advantages.

A nice feature the game offers is Umbra, the time-traveling dog. If you miss any side quests or bounties as you progress through the main story, Umbra allows you to go back in time and complete them.

There is also a new game plus+ where you guys can explore the dungeon with the more hard enemies to encounter.

While the game world can sometimes feel empty or boring, especially during side quests, the main story remains engaging and well worth the experience.
